Winter CHW Core Competency Training

This training will be held virtually, Monday – Friday. 9 am – 12 pm.
Learners will be equipped with the foundational knowledge necessary to begin work as a Community Health Worker. Participants who complete all phases of training are eligible to sit for the SC CHW Certification Exam administered by the SC CHW Association. This training curriculum is rooted in participatory learning techniques and emphasizes skills and competencies following the C3 Project Core Competencies of CHWs.
Training is comprised of 161 hours over approximately 6 weeks. Broken down into 5 weeks of facilitated learning (Oct. 9 – Nov. 14) followed by a 4 week break for practicum (or mentored in-the-field placement) phase (Nov. 15 – Dec. 7). Participants will complete a community presentation and an exam review on the last day of training (Dec. 8).
