Fall CHW Core Competency Training
August 21, 2023 @ 9:00 am - September 29, 2023 @ 4:00 pm EDT
This training will be held in person, Monday – Friday. 9 am – 4 pm. (1 hr break for lunch)
Learners will be equipped with the foundational knowledge necessary to begin work as a Community Health Worker. Participants who complete all phases of training are eligible to sit for the SC CHW Certification Exam administered by the SC CHW Association. This training curriculum is rooted in participatory learning techniques and emphasizes skills and competencies following the C3 Project Core Competencies of CHWs.
Training is comprised of 161 hours over approximately 6 weeks. Broken down into 2 weeks of facilitated learning (Aug. 21 – Aug. 31), a 3-week break for practicum completion (Sept. 1 – Sept. 22), and 1 additional week of facilitated learning (Sept. 25 – Sept. 29).
