Winter 2024 CHW Core Competency Training – In Person @ MUSC Charleston
January 22 @ 9:00 am - March 4 @ 4:00 pm EST
This training will be held in person at MUSC Charleston, Monday – Thursday. 9 am – 4 pm. (1 hr break for lunch)
Learners will be equipped with the foundational knowledge necessary to begin work as a Community Health Worker. Participants who complete all phases of training are eligible to sit for the SC CHW Certification Exam administered by the SC CHW Association. This training curriculum is rooted in participatory learning techniques and emphasizes skills and competencies following the C3 Project Core Competencies of CHWs.
Training is comprised of 161 hours over approximately 6 weeks. Broken down into 3 weeks of facilitated learning (January 22 – February 9), a 3-week break for practicum completion (February 12 – March 1). Participants will return to facilitated learning for a final community presentation and exam review on March 4th.
