This training will be held in-person at the Darlington Lee Adult Education Center, Monday – Friday. 9 am – 4 pm (EST) with a 1 hour break for lunch.
Learners will be equipped with the foundational knowledge necessary to begin work as a Community Health Worker. Participants who complete all phases of training are eligible to sit for the SC CHW Certification Exam administered by the SC CHW Association. This training curriculum is rooted in participatory learning techniques and emphasizes skills and competencies following the C3 Project Core Competencies of CHWs.
Training is comprised of 161 hours over approximately 6 weeks. Broken down into 3 weeks of facilitated learning (July 15 – August 2), a 3-week break for practicum completion (August 5 – August 23). Participants will return to facilitated learning for a final community presentation and exam review on August 26th.
