Good afternoon CHWs and Allies!
We are so excited to announce our SE CHW CoLab this month,
This month’s topic is Agricultural Workers & Labor Trafficking
Our CHW Case Study Presenter will be Ms. Leslie Moran, a Certified Community Health Worker (Promotora de Salud) who is currently working for Prisma Health with the PASOs Program Model. Her focus is working for the Latino community in the Sumter SC area.
Our CoLab Trainer will be Ms. Abdalis Toro, SC’s State Monitor Advocate (SMA) and one of the co-chairs of the Labor Trafficking Subcommittee under the state’s Human Trafficking Taskforce.
Our objective for this month is to learn more about the rights of agricultural workers and what signs to look for if labor trafficking is suspected.
About CoLab
The goal is for Community Health Workers and CHW Allies from all across the Southeast to support and learn together. Every month, a CHW will present a case study and an expert will offer training in a topic of great interest.
By attending and completing an evaluation, participants will receive 1 hour of CHW CEU every month.
Our CoLab is hosted by AHEC, if you haven’t registered for the CoLab yet, please note you will have to create an account through AHEC.
Please be sure to reach out to Nicole Moran, admin@scchwa.org, if you have any further questions.
